It's helpful to know there are a number of therapeutic approaches and not just one way of doing therapy. I use several approaches to tailor the therapy to each individual or couple to work with clients in the most effective and efficient ways to reach their goals. Some methods in the therapeutic process include, but are hardly limited to: understanding the impact of meaningful relationships in one's life, raising awareness of irrational thoughts and belief systems, increasing emotional connectivity, and strategizing behavioral changes. Through increasing emotional and cognitive awareness, you can achieve goals of enhancing your life and overall mood.
I am available Monday through Friday by appointment. My appointments are 50 minutes in length, though in some instances, a longer session can be arranged. If I do not have availability that meets your needs, I am happy to offer referrals to a trusted colleague.
I am able to accept clients who have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Multiplan and PHCS health insurance plans at this time. For any other insurance plans, seeing me will be considered ‘out-of-network.’ I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement for reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company if you wish to use insurance to ask about your in and out-of-network mental health benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance company concerning mental health benefits:
What are my benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?
Do I need a referral from my primary care physician or a pre-approval to see a mental health professional?
Are there dollar limits, visit limits or other coverage limits for my mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible that needs to be met? Sometimes your deductible will not apply for mental health services. This means you would only need to pay your copay. Be sure to ask specific questions about this.
For those not using health insurance, my standard fee is $150 for individual therapy and $200 for couples/relationship therapy per session. Payment is due at the time of service.
I have a limited number of sliding-fee openings that I make available. For these, clients pay what they can afford, which can be especially helpful for those who are unemployed, underemployed or do not have adequate health insurance. To inquire if I'm accepting new sliding-fee clients, please contact me.
